"slow-measured compositions full of tension"
On the heels of the release of their celebrated third album, “Becoming Creatures“, Tremosphere release this new single written by Sylvia Solanas and recorded by the band in France and New York City.
Featuring Ms Solanas on piano, synth and vocals and Michael Serafin-Wells on guitars, bass, Moog synth and tape loops, it both finds the band expanding their sonic palette with new sounds and is at once a forthright and deeply personal response to the humanitarian crisis Ms Solanas felt needed to be articulated. The new single is available on Slugg Records.
“We can’t just watch and stay silent.
It doesn’t have to be like this.
Hope and work towards better.
Nobody’s Free Until Everybody’s Free.”
-Sylvia Solanas

Featuring their signature delay and reverb-drenched guitars and Ms Solanas’s sultry vocals, the track also marks the first recording where she sings in both English and French.
As with her spoken word work with Tremosphere’s sister band, Bipolar Explorer, Ms Solanas herself composed the translation.
This track had its broadcast premiere on WFMU‘s “Dark Night of the Soul” on May 30, 2023. On behalf of the band, a huge thanks to Julie, the show’s host.

“a lovely debut” – Carol Crow, WFMU
“Tremosphere is Sylvia Solanas and Michael Serafin-Wells, who are also in Bipolar Explorer. The New York, New York duo craft slow-measured compositions – full of tension, rising and falling – with Solanas’s vocals constant throughout. This is headphones music. For contemplation and inspiration. Turn up the volume and bathe in the tones.”
–Bret Miller, Eardrum Buzz Radio, Los Angeles.
INTERIORS is the debut album of Tremosphere, with Bipolar Explorer co-founder Michael Serafin-Wells (guitars, bass, organ, synth, tape loops, backing vocals, spoken word, percussion) and introducing Sylvia Solanas (lead vocals, spoken word).
Featuring Serafin-Wells’s signature post-rock, shoegaze-y guitars and Ms. Solanas’s breathy alto vocals, their sound is a kind of NYC dreampop seasoned with a dash of French wanderlust.
